Synopsis
When the kindergarten teacher asks the children to draw a picture of their home, five-year-old Alissa gets confused. In her short life she has already had several homes, and each one is dear to her — how could she possibly choose just one?
As the story unfolds, Alissa reflects on the different places she has lived, pondering what truly makes a house a home, and why a sense of belonging grows in some places but not in others. Through a child’s eyes, the reader glimpses the story of a small family — their moves, their tragedies and hardships, but above all their care for each other.
The text is written in both Estonian and Ukrainian in parallel.
