Synopsis

9 y.o Emmi, her mother and grandmother live in Maplewood’s White Villa. A kind but inattentive mother and a strict grandmother are not much of a company to a lively child, so Emmi’s only friends are the paintings of her ancestors on the many walls of their villa. The story gets a boost when Emmi meets Martin, a slightly older boy who has just moved into a nearby village with his family. Martin becomes Emmi’s first real friend. Things start to happen and soon take quite a fantastic turn. There are many questions being asked but not all of them are answered. What happened to Emmi’s dad and why does no one want to tell about him?

Outstandingly executed original fairy-tale that moves between reality and make believe with ease. A story that is mutually timeless and historic, old fashioned in a most positive way and yet undoubtedly contemporary.
