Synopsis

A large tree grows in front of a little boy’s grandparents’ house. It gives shade to people both big and small during the day. At night, however, it is like a good giant, who protects the house. There is a hole in the tree, where one can whisper secrets. There are deep grooves in the tree’s bark, because it is very, very old. The tree is like a silent member of the family, without whom not one day passes. Even the little boy’s thoughts and doings lead back to the tree time and time again.

The story’s secretive and mysterious nature is enhanced by the illustrations of Louise Duneton.
