Fifth-grader Paul sleeps in for the first time in his life and doesn’t make it to school. Yet when he goes out for a walk, it turns out that the day’s extraordinary events aren’t just about to start. A series of incidents unfold, starring a stunning saleswoman Katja, a pair of daft bullies, the arty Arthur and Arthur’s witty daughter Minna (who will become Paul's best friend). The real protagonist in all these events, however, is a strange man who buys a brand-new pair of size-39 shoes every single day without trying them on first. What? Why would anyone do that? Paul just HAS to find out.
