Synopsis

Paul Viies wakes to a surprise — the first snow has fallen overnight. In his haste to get ready, the sole of his winter shoe comes loose, and instead of going to school, Paul finds himself at the cobbler’s workshop. The cobbler repairs the shoe in no time, but asks a small favour in return: to deliver a letter across the road to the baker at the café. And so begins a new adventure, soon joined by Minna and Ats.

Shoe No. 43 is the fifth and final volume in the Shoe series, returning us to a familiar world full of unexpected turns. Alongside Paul, Minna, and Ats, we meet old friends — Artur, Valter, Katja, and Hugo — as well as a host of new, colourful characters. As the cobbler Kalle tells Paul, “People are what bring colour to life. Each person is special in their own way.”

This is a story about growing up and discovering how the most unexpected moments can show us who we truly are.
