Synopsis

Markus has spent the whole summer brimming with excitement—at last he will be starting school in the autumn! Soon, however, he discovers that school is not quite as wonderful as he imagined. Everything would be fine, if only his otherwise clever head could make sense of mathematics.

To help with the homework, Markus’s father buys him a simple, inexpensive calculator from a second-hand shop. But it quickly becomes clear that this is no ordinary calculator at all. The question is—what, or perhaps who, could it be?
