Synopsis

Jakob and Matilda's family has recently been through a heartbreaking loss: their father has died unexpectedly. Although the children have felt sadness, anger and disappointment, they have somehow made it through the school year. Now the summer holidays have arrived, but without their father – who was always the one to dream up exciting adventures – they have no idea what to do.

Then their uncle Marks, their mother's brother, suggests a family road trip. They pack their bags and set off on a journey where one adventure leads to the next. Along the way, Jakob and Matilda discover that it is possible to come to terms with life's greatest challenges, and that although their father is gone, he remains with them in their hearts and memories.
