Daila Ozola
Daila Ozola (1969) is a translator of Estonian literature into Latvian. She was born to an Estonian mother and a Latvian (Latgalian) father. At home they spoke Estonian. After acquiring a bachelor’s degree in nursery school teaching, she worked at a Waldorf kindergarten. In 2018, Ozola defended her master’s thesis titled “Translation’s Journey to the Reader: Estonian Children’s Literature and Mika Keränen”. Concurrently, she began studying the practical translation of Estonian literature into Latvian from Contra, Guntars Godiņš, and Maima Grīnberga.Translations
