Daila Ozola

Daila Ozola (1969) is a translator of Estonian literature into Latvian. She was born to an Estonian mother and a Latvian (Latgalian) father. At home they spoke Estonian. After acquiring a bachelorā€™s degree in nursery school teaching, she worked at a Waldorf kindergarten. In 2018, Ozola defended her masterā€™s thesis titled ā€œTranslationā€™s Journey to the Reader: Estonian Childrenā€™s Literature and Mika KerƤnenā€. Concurrently, she began studying the practical translation of Estonian literature into Latvian from Contra, Guntars GodiņŔ, and Maima GrÄ«nberga.
